1. Spotted Dick

In the mid-90s, I was being transferred from Germany to England. I planned on taking 30 days of leave back in the States between assignments and I wanted to drive to the base in England and drop off my car so it would be there when arrived. One of my friends was transferring there also so she and a female friend of hers asked if they could follow behind me me when I drove there. After arriving in England, we stopped at a small pub to get something to eat and both women cracked up laughing at the menu. Dpotted Dick was one of the items on the menu. The pub owner asked them what was so funny and they told him it was the Spotted Dick but he couldn't understand why they were laughing. The explained it to him and he had a good laugh and assured them it was just a pudding. So we ordered it and it was good.
