Set in 1970, 15-year-old Fern is sent to a home for unwed mothers. She experiences all the misogyny and shame of that era, until she meets a librarian who introduces her to the book, How to be a Groovy Witch.

NB: I really like Hendrix’s twisted imagination. I’ve read several of his books.
