What I hate to do [View all]

1. A tie between brushing my teeth and folding/putting away laundry.

2. Making up the bed.

I brush my teeth once a day, before I go to bed. I have a Sonicare toothbrush and over the years I've figured out the parts that bother me most when I go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned (the back of my lower front teeth, gumline up and down, both sides, and this wisdom tooth I have that's hard to get to. I Sonicare the hell out of my lower back teeth, brush my gums more than my teeth, and make sure I hit that wisdom tooth.

If it weren't for the praise I get from the dental hygienist I wouldn't bother. And I don't ever floss--I lie to them and they believe me because I do such a good job brushing my gums.

Isn't this childish, doing something that's good for me only because some young woman I see twice a year tells me my "home care" is excellent?

Maybe I could hire somebody to come in every morning and tell me what a good job I did making up the bed.

I wouldn't bother making it except that my husband rolls himself up in all the covers when he sleeps, so I need to make sure I at least start out with enough covers to keep me warm.

We just celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary. We said "Happy Anniversary" to each other. That's about all the excitement we can take.
