In addition to the UU church, you might also try the public library. I know Charlottesville has a fantastic library system. I was looking for jobs down there when I graduated in 2019, and as I recall, the whole State Library system is great, so even your rural library might be pretty good. Check out what books their book clubs are reading, or what other kinds of adult programming they have.
