We were young and taught to believe the "authorities". What we didn't know at the time is that the people we trusted were in it for themselves. They didn't care about our national interest, the interest of the people, or the welfare of the troops. They were in it for themselves, and anyone that gave them enough money to buy their influence. As a result of this, we lost over 58,000 of America's finest. There are many times that number who were wounded so bad that they will never live a normal life. And the current crop of "leaders" talk about using more military force to cover up their incompetence in foreign affairs. Some of our representatives are honest and try to do their job like the Constitution dictates. But most of them are still in it for their own gain. The MIC has grown so powerful that people think that this is the normal state of affairs. We should have a strong military, the strongest in the world. If we don't, some other country will. We should not let the chicken hawks use it for their personal gain though. We can not invade every little country in the world just to create profit for the 1%. We should also realize that the promises made to the troops must be kept. You can not destroy a persons health and life, then try to weasel out of paying for his care. There is no way to fight these wars on the cheap. There is no way for our government to have a strong military and continue with tax cuts for the elite. The money has to come from somewhere, and the poor and middle classes have been bled dry. This is not class warfare. We already had that, and our class lost. This is just common sense.
