Failure to enforce federal laws.

Cleveland is doing what the feds won't.

Then who's on the other end of the phone while I stand at the counter in the gun shop? I agree that some municipalities are remiss in timely reporting of data, but that's not the Feds' fault. The one thing I think they should do differently is pursue failed purchase attempts for the perjury committed on the 4473, but I don't see how Cleveland can do that unilaterally, as they don't have access to the data.

Is Cleveland going to have its own background checks performed at point of sale? If not, what is the point of this?

Just for the record, I'm not sold on the sex offender registry theory either. People who are still dangerous should still be incarcerated. Releasing them into the community with a sign on their backs not only violates the offenders' rights, but endangers the community as well.
