showing soldiers petting and feeding stray cats in their trenches and dugouts. Cats not only hunt and kill rodents, they also dispose of protein leftovers that attract the rodents to the trenches. They are incredibly useful little animals in both war and peace.

I haven'[t seen any vids from the Russian side , I suppose soldiers who aren't getting adequate food are not going to be in a position to feed cats in their trenches. I do know that Russians in general tend to like cats.
