transfixed by something just outside the fence. I figured it was a snake... until I heard the meowing! The grass is up to my knees because we can't mow... it upsets the deer. I finally got a glimpse of fur, but my plodding dislodged it. It clearly wanted inside the catio. Later, I tried again. Again my plodding dislodged it, but this time it made a mistake. It went to the fencing and tried to ram its way through, putting it where I could see it and being forced to stay in one place. Ha! I swooped down, scruffed it and ended its outdoor life. He's about 8 weeks, but emaciated. I gave him a flea shampoo, checked his ears for mites, and deposited him in a cage that's always ready. Tomorrow I'll worm him. Next, combo test and neuter appt, but my vet wants them older. Tentative name: Chico. He doesn't seem to know what to do with the banquet I laid out for him, but some shoving of wet food into his teeny mouth is helping him to get interested! When I checked on him after a few hours, he was hiding behind the litter box in a towel, but when I dragged him out and held him to me, yikes!!, nonstop loud purring!!
