A few years back a Vet suggested one of the pricey science diet type of foods for my Cat who suffered kidney issues. Can't remember the brand. He would not touch it nor would any of our other healthy Cats. If fact several of them acted like it was poop and tried to bury it. I even tried to give what was left of the cans of it to the outside Cats who hang around. As hungry as they are they all ignored it.

Over the last several years I've lost much respect for Vets, at least the ones in my area. In my area their prices are exorbitant and their advice is often suspect in hindsight. For instance I was quoted over $700 to $1200 for a basic neutering of our newest Male Cat. That's insane! I was able to take him to the local Humane Society clinic and get it done for a donation of $150.
