54. This "all over the country" stuff is part of the problem

When teens go awry, there’s no one around that can say, “hey, I remember when your dad was little and he did the exact same thing”
Or to say “your mom still believes in you, she just worries about you like any mom does”

Those conversations don’t happen much when people are too far apart to be regular visitors.

Right now I really wish there was any understanding family member who could talk things over, between us.
