1. Blue is a pain in the ass to mix and match

It's actually the worst color out there for this, either because of the way our eyes work or because there are so many colors labeled "blue" that look like hell next to each other.

I think the shingles will read more grey than blue and there's enough variation among them to allow you a great deal of latitude in the color you end up with for the shutters.
