6. Make sure the bid includes feathering the new boards in.

The new boards will stick out like a sore thumb if they are all in one spot. What that means is they take out more than just the area to be patched and use the undamaged old boards to mix in with the new boards to cover the entire area. So a new board goes in, then several old boards, new, old, new,etc. the idea is to blend the new boards into the old, not just lay down new boards.
