Nerve burn? [View all]

I asked my neurologist what to say when someone asks me what I have, and he named off a 15 syllable problem, smiled, then told me to say "neck pain." Have had the problem for many many years and it's a little worse because of arthritis adding it.

Just finished two 6-hour tests a week apart following injections to the neck. It was to determine if there was any temporary improvement from the shots during the 6-hour period following the shots. There was definitely an improvement, from pain to ease of movement, less pressure even on the ears, etc. After 6 hours, the pain returned.

Since I had an improvement in the 90% area, insurance will pay for something akin to burning a troublesome nerve, done in the doctor's office. If there had been no improvement, insurance would not pay.

Has anyone ever had a nerve burned?
