is the Nekkid Watchmaker.

The Rolex Explorer is an interesting watch. The Rolex watch that would later be named the Explorer went along with Sir Edmund Hillary on the expedition that first conquered Mt Everest, although it wasn’t taken to the summit.

Rolex later decided to market a second version beginning in 1971 called the Explorer II. They designed it for cave explorers, but it wasn’t real popular at the time, and it was discontinued in 1984. I have one that was built before 1975 that I bought, new, in 1979 while I was working at a jewelry store.
