        I don't believe there is any penalty for doing so. I have the same worries about a crash. There are great books about how to invest for retirement. I don't know of any that tell you what to do once you are retired. I do think a low cost bond fund is your answer. Even dividend paying stocks are going to be really ugly in a crash.
