It seems like the fashion choices Americans make for themselves most often are lounging sweats and sweats "for best".

I subscribe to several Facebook pages for men about being well-dressed. There is an entire subculture of fashionistas who get their clothing items from thrift shops, and put together excellent outfits with them. It's not a case of not enough money to look good.
