3. I was another of those who climbed to the top of the pyramid back in the day

When climbing was banned, I thought that the rationale given at the time sounded sensible: that mass tourism was causing too much wear and tear on the structure.

Banned because it’s hazardous to tourists, eh?

Maybe Ms. Tik-Tok can try doing selfies from the top of the pyramid at Tikal? Tikal is higher and the climb is steeper (I know because I’ve done it). What’s life without a little risk?
