2. I have read and studied Haiti a fair amount, in my opinion nothing will ever help at this point.

Except someone like the UN stepping in with a blank check book and lots of police who are not afraid to do their job. They are screwed due to earth quakes, weather, geography. Even just blank checks would do nothing, the gangs control the place, the police are ineffective in any way. The gov is so screwed up, nothing but a clean wipe of what they have will get rid of the the gov problems.

Even just going in and trying to rebuild the infrastructure would do nothing but give them new buildings and power to fight over and still have the gang problems.

Its is sad, but I think it would just need to rebuilt from the ground up with everything but the normal everyday people left over. I hate to write anyone or any where off, but I cant see a way out for them.
