during this time in Earth's history.

I don't subscribe to supernatural stuff, but what's happened on this planet, that's given rise to intelligent life ... is the stuff of 'miracles'.

Really it's just mathematics and the laws of physics ... trillions of stars, and even more planets, what we see around us and experience as 'life' is mathematically and physically possible, ergo ... us.

But it literally COULD be the only time 'life' has advanced to the point where we are at in the history of all the universe. So far, for all we KNOW ... that is the case. It's not likely that's true, but we have some sensitive equipment for determining the past existence of other life in the cosmos, and we've found none to date.

Things like seeing people in these magnificent caves just reminds of how incredible and unlikely the human experience has been, contrasted with the vast, cold expanse and vacuum that is 'space'.
