*BOG GROUP* First of Four Trade Bills Passes House [View all]
On CSPAN today and Friday, 4 trade bills are being considered by the US House.
The first bill has passed 397-32. This H.R. 1295, "African Trade and Repeal Medicare Offset," concurring on Senate amendments with amendment. This bill will go back to the Senate for amendment approval.
The amendment - Medicare money will not be used to fund TAA displaced worker program! One 'poison pill' done! Thank you, Nancy Pelosi!
For what it's worth:
Republicans - 212 for, 31 against, 3 NV.
Democrats - 185 for, 1 against, 2 NV.
