Original hard drive?

Download and install the free version of ccleaner run the disk cleaner and registry cleaner.

then do a disk defrag

When you get a new machine, get a refurbished from newegg or tigerdirect, etc.

You can get a WIN 10 Pro machine with DVD R-W, 1TB hard drive, 8 GB of RAM for $300 to $350. Keep an eye out for USB 3 and more than one video output, too.

Then put linux on your old machine. Will it run a 64-bit OS?
