1. It's the quote from "a Kent police spokesperson" at the end that worries me the most

The official response to this is "yeah, we'll do this again". Not a spur of the moment crappy choice by a subpar PC, but the considered opinion of the police force.

Fascists.

I wish the Guardian has asked for the spokesperson's name, and then said "who refused to give their name". The people claiming that "displaying items that arouse a reasonable suspicion" of supporting a non-violent group that has the same aims as the majority of the country is a "criminal offence" should be named and shamed. And sacked, of course, but that's too much to hope for.
