3. Not to diss WV...

My son married a wonderful girl from there and I've got a beautiful little Jethro from it. In fact, when my son and his wife split up, my relationship with him cooled and I've gotten very close to my ex-daughter-in-law.

Not so some of her family. Sheesh. Everything negative my little grandson does is because of my side of the family. It's the "Mexican" in him. They make racist jokes, say the N-word like it's going out of style and look at me suspiciously like they think I'm going to run off with one of their tailgates. The older ladies sit around listening to Frances Swaggart run off at the mouth on Sonlife for hours, talking about homosexual orgies. Not that we Texans and Hispanic Texans in particular, are saints in comparison. I could caricature us all night as well. But, in WV, when I see people who work at Walmart at minimum wage, coming home and dissing Obama because he's only interested in helping out minorities with handouts instead of the hard-working "middle-class" like themselves, I can only wonder at the cognitive dissonance. On what planet does a family bringing in $15,000 a year and supplementing it with food stamps call themselves middle class? Probably the same planet as the one woman who told me her husband was a "good provider." He was on Social Security Disability for bipolar disorder.
