13. The quoted line was clearly about the parents

In "They lost a child...", the "they" clearly refers to the parents. It was the father's gun. I don't think it is going too far out on a limb to assume that the father placed the gun there and was well aware of it.

I realize there is another person involved who was in the car at the time - but there is no way I would absolve the parent who owned the gun from blame here.
