The digital age has improved photography a lot. Not only because the equipment is better/faster/more intuitive but the cost of each image is $0.00. When I was in camera sales I asked customers how many pounds of film they wanted. Not rolls, POUNDS. Today when I go to a seminar or field trip I routinely shoot 500 or more exposures, something nobody could afford back in the day.

With wildlife in particular the number of exposures is essential to getting results so I still 'shoot it by the pound'.
