Besides, Tom Dooley wasn't from the '60s. The famous Kingston Trio version was released in 1958, but there had been other recordings of the song going all the way back to the 1920s. Considering the real-life murder that was the basis of the song took place just after the Civil War, maybe you meant to comment about 1860s folk songs?
