3. Would ribbon work?

I don't know if you can even find this, but I was thinking if you could find some satin ribbon that is the width you want, like 3 or 4 inches, then you could fold it over and at least the edges would be finished even if not folded under like the nice old style binding. If it exists it might be too expensive to do a whole blanket though, so I don't know if it would be worth it. Also, just thinking, I don't know how that would go through a washing either.
