(33,643 posts)Waiting ... song after song ... for a single track that they actually knew ...
I like it when artists do that ... rewarding the hard-core fans that actually bought the records over the years, rather than just 'knowing the hits'. It's a real treat for that group of people. Kinda like when The Who did Quadrophenia a few years back (which I saw).
And there's a few bands I'd love to see doing a tour like that ... The Cure definitely jumps to mind, for myself. To see them play the setlist from the early 1990's 'Paris' live CD? Sheeeeit ... or maybe Smashing Pumpkins do an all-of 'Gish' and 'Siamese Dream' tour ... and of course REM doing that kinda thing would be a DREAM ... to see the 'Live at the Olympia' set in person I think I could die after ... even though that was late in their career, that was a serious long-time fan appreciation show ... at least we have the CD though.
Or hey ... if the Stones did a Beggars Banquet/Sticky Fingers/Exile on Main Street tour?
