Nice use of McMansion space, and probably easier to maintain and keep clean if he is running an unofficial cat rescue. I like that the cat spaces work with the rest of the house design, and it all works together - the cats have their space and the humans have theirs.

You could probably do the same if you rescued parrots, but it wouldn't work for dogs.
