40. The first concert I ever went to was Herman's Hermits when I was 10 or 11

It was probably at the old Olympia Stadium in downtown Detroit. My mother and I were in a whole roomful of screaming pre-teens, probably in the cheap seats. We were pretty far away.

My first concert as a teen was Paul Revere and the Raiders because I was so madly in love with Mark Lindsay. By that time, my mother would drop me off at the door and come back way after it was over to pick me up. Seriously, my mother was NEVER sitting in the car waiting for me whenever I left anywhere; I always stood outside, long after everyone else was gone, waiting for her at least 15-20 minutes. And even back in the 60s, downtown Detroit was not the safest place for a 15-year-old girl to be standing alone on a street corner after dark for any length of time.
