I had a lower front tooth removed because the root canal was infected. I had a root canal on it decades ago and over the years it became infected and the dentists would clean it out and reseal it. This time, the oral surgeon said he could try to do a root canal on it but there was a 40% chance of success. It was that or remove the tooth so I opted for tooth removal. It took him about 20 minutes to take it out and graft a bone onto my gum. Literally an hour later, I was in my dentist's office where she scanned my mouth to send to a computerize machine to make a new tooth. While the machine was making the new tooth, I took a walk and when I came back the tooth was ready. She did a Maryland Wing which she attached the new tooth to an adjacent tooth. So for about 2.5 hours, I was missing a tooth. So far, everything has been good.
