Enola Gay, of course, was the name of the B-29 bomber that on August 6, 1945 dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.
Col. Paul Tibbets, Jr. was the pilot of the Enola Gay. (He eventually rose to the rank of Brigadier General)
