Otherwise I've lived in Houston. As bad as Houston's traffic can get, it's freeways are laid out like spokes on a wheel, with 3 concentric "loops" - one around the inner city, one around the suburbs and one around the exurbs. You can pretty much get wherever you want through utilizing the loops or not. Austin's freeways never made any sense to me and they get terribly congested for a city its size.
