A younger teacher took my brother and I. Her boyfriend was there too. Since we were “going out downtown” Mom made us where our church clothes - tie not jacket. My older brother ditched his shirt and tie as soon as we got there.

I remember everyone wearing black t-shirts and the funny smell.
