36. I rinse them. The main thing I use the dishwasher for is to sanitize the dishes.

Water to my dishwasher is 140 degrees F., it takes some tough bacteria to survive an hour of that. When the cycle is done, I crack the door and the dishes dry in a couple of minutes. Pots and pans I wash by hand.
