To my horror, a couple of the kittens are now able to BREACH the barricade at the den door!! [View all]

So, I think I have outdone myself in coming up with a temporary solution. A slick yard sign on a pressure rod in front of the tub that allows the height of the barricade to be adjusted. I'm going to put another rod at the bottom for more stability. (I've blocked out the company so as to not be suspected of trying to drum up more business for them, although they ARE a great company, IMHO.) I just really want Sophie to be able to have a 'safe haven', AND I want to be able to keep track of where these angels are, until I can get the rest of the house ready for them.

I thought I'd be down to 2, by this weekend, and that would be a little more manageable for someone as anxiety prone as yours truly, who STILL worries I'm going to make a major mistake or miss some hazard.

Honestly, who designs a house with no den door???
