at least as many doppelgangers as Puin does, so nobody knows exactly which one might be real. I have to think Russian TV showed the passport pictures of him in various disguises in the hope of increasing sightings of the real guy.

It's really, really hard to know what's going on in that government, only that two of the main generals haven't been seen in over a week, one of whom missed his wife's birthday party. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes, but until state TV breaks out into nonstop productions of "Swan Lake," no one will know if an ongoing coup attempt has succeeded. Its a game of wait and see both inside and outside Russia.

I haven't checked the ruble today, there were attempts to shore it up yesterday and they mostly failed by the time I crashed in the wee hours. They had it at 91.2 at its lowest. It didn't stay there long.
