Fox News Makes Terrible Decision To Let Hosts Testify At Dominion Trial - Ring of Fire [View all]
In a letter to the court filed this week, Fox News announced that they would make their hosts available to testify in the upcoming Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit against them. This means that Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Laura Ingraham will have to answer questions under oath in front of a jury about the messages they exchanged acknowledging the lies they were telling, which is going to end badly for the network. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why this is such a bad decision for the network.

In a letter filed with the courts this week, Fox News let the courts know that they have decided to make the dumbest decision possible, and they are offering up Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingram, Lou Dobbs, Brett Bear, Maria Bartiromo, all of them are available to testify at the forthcoming Dominion Voting System's Defamation Trial against the network. This is the dumbest thing I have heard of so far with this Dominion trial, and we've heard some dumb stuff from Fox, but letting these hosts take the stand in front of a jury that y'all are trying to lose at this point, I am firmly convinced you just want to lose this defamation case because nothing good can come from having these hosts go and testify. Now, I'm glad you made the decision because I want you to lose, and I'm confident that with this decision you will lose.
But let me explain in case anybody out there is wondering why I think it's such a stupid idea, here's what's gonna happen. You see, we already know that Dominion has all of these text messages from these Fox News hosts. They have the emails, they have the memos, they have everything where those people that I listed explained how they knew all of these claims were totally false. Okay? That is in the record. Those have already been submitted in court. So when Tucker Carlson gets up there to take the stand, lawyers for the plaintiffs are gonna pull out that list of, uh, text messages and say, Hey, tuck, would you mind explaining to the court what you meant when you said that? You know, you absolutely hate Donald Trump. You hate him with a passion. Could you explain that to all of us here? Can you explain how you tried to get an individual fired for fact checking Donald Trump on the air?
Can you explain why you would do that? Can you explain Laura Ingram, all these messages you have talking about how you know that what's going out on the air is not exactly the truth? Why don't you tell the jury why you still decided to do that? The text messages tell the entire story, and having these idiotic hosts explain the text messages is going to go badly for Fox News. Like there's no way Tucker Carlson or Laura Ingram, or Hannity or whoever else is gonna get up on the stand, be confronted with their own text messages and be able to explain it away to the jury. Now, we know, obviously cuz this is how trials work. The Fox News lawyers have definitely been working with these hosts.
They have been prepping them. You know, they go through the, the training sessions, they kind of coach them on what they should say, how they can explain away and excuse the text messages. But the text messages are so damning that I don't know that there's anything these people can say that's going to make the jury be like, oh, okay, well yeah, that makes sense. But Fox News clearly thinks that that is the case. That's why they filed the letter. That's why they're offering these people up to testify. And I hope Dominion takes them up on that offer because that might be the final nail in the coffin during this trial.
