We are in this pickle because the DOJ assumed during the Watergate era that the people of our country are little children who couldn't cope with seeing criminals in leadership positions locked up for their crimes. As far as I am concerned, neither Tricky Dicky nor bribe taker Agnew should never have been pardoned. They should have been prosecuted and locked up.
