President Carter was Woke. His job was to insure that we, as a country, lived up to the moral greatness the we espouse. I tire of people who say that he was the best human being that we have had as a president, but at the same time, a weak president. He lost his second term to a team of the most ruthless political animals that I have seen in my lifetime. Living through that dichotomy has shaped my lifelong passion fo all things political.
