Suppose the people of a red state elect Dems, or even moderate Republicans, for Congress due to a large number of women voters lashing back at the overturning of Roe.

But the state legislature has a majority of RW extremists and MAGAs. The legislature overturns the choices of the voters and names far right candidates as the winners.

What will the disenfranchised voters do? Almost guaranteed that they will protest loudly in the media and in demonstrstions. But, is there any way that they can stop the selected candidates from being sworn in? Can the House refuse to accept them? Since it is an election for a federal office, can the federal government intervene?

The SC might rule before the elections that states can do this. Will the people accept that ruling?

Protesters would likely be treated harshly, maybe violently, by the state government. Will they fight back physically? Hold state wide work strikes in all job categories, union and non union? Would they try to overthrow the state government by force and is that justifiable?

What will be the repercussions of such an event?
