I am very interested in WWII. Your dad was doing a critical job. The German U-Boats were so superior, we were losing to them at one point. Yes the use of radar to track German subs was highly classified at the time.

My Dad was flying the Burma Hump in WWII. Then he was in Korea, but we never learned what he did there, classified. Then in Viet Nam flying missions to VN, Laos, North Viet Nam.

Same here, my father came home with life long issues related to being in war zones starting at age 18 until he retired from the AF.
