8. There are other Russian vloggers out there saying much the same thing

One man is in St. Petersburg. A woman vlogger hasn't said where she is, but it's a large city

They have reported much the same thing, empty malls with stores closed behind their well lit display windows. The St Petersburg vlogger said food prices went way up but that the prices of a lot of items have since come down, especially things like baked goods. I did notice the same empty carts, including his, as people are afraid to splurge on anything.

(Shoppiing malls in my city are just as empty and anchor stores have closed. We don't have sanctions, we just have megarmergers, nostile takeovers, and billionaires who refuse to allow wages to rise. Shopping malls are the canary in that particular coal mine.)

Most vloggers are being careful not to call it a war and are just calling it current events or the situation. They're also vague enough that they could be talking about being depressed about the sanctions, not Putin's war.

I know that sick feeling. I've felt it every time this country has been lied into another war of corporate convenience.
