he's been backpedaling away from that for quite awhile now. I remember when someone pointed out to him that Ayn Rand despised religious figures and I don't think he knew it.

Like most of the RW wackos that like to pretend to be Rand worshipers they are pretty quick to pick and choose only the parts of her idiotic philosophy that appeal to them, much like the same people do with the bible.
