5. I'll admit I no little of nothing about pre WW1 politics,

local or global. I think its fairly natural to stay within your time frame as a general rule. The 50's were a time when many of us were alive... some of us even of a reasoning age! It's lived experience, you might say. WWII, we lived through the stories of our fathers and mothers who served in the military at that time. It's not an excuse to not see further back... I think it's just a natural starting point for most people.

I honestly didn't know about Wilson's politics. My God, how close to what we have today did he go? You're struck my curiosity to do my own research. Thank you!
