This is why the appeals to racism and resentment are working so well for Republicans. This is why longtime Democratic states like WV are now deep red.

This is the result of decades of propaganda playing on the emotions of white and rural people who really have been left behind. But the cause of their distress is not the Democrats or Democratic policies. It's not gay marriage or Critical Race Theory. Woke ideology didn't steal their livelihoods. It's the globalized workforce, massive redistribution of wealth and power into the hands of the few, loss of unions, and loss of buying power.
