(135,425 posts)What's "wrong" is your assumption, and the fact that you resorted to it at all. A small section of a crowd, in a picture used to illustrate a flyer, is your "proof" that these demos are somehow racist?
Here, play "spot the brown one" (to riff on GHW Bush) if you'd like in these pictures. And perhaps you should know that if you want to know what "color" a person is, the standard expression, usually spoken with love and humor, not a sense of accusation, is "Look to their grandmother?" Go back far enough, and everyone is some shade of brown.
This kid WAS a university student, an English major named Daniel Tinoco--he was murdered by colectivos yesterday. Brown enough for you?
Recognize the uniform?
Look "Mexican" enough for you? See what happens when you protest against food scarcity?
White faces...brown arms. Wassup wit' dat?
Perhaps this flyer is more to your liking?
I think you need to rethink your POV and your comments. This is a national issue, and the protesters include people from the "poor" neighborhoods and it isn't "racial" either.
See, everyone's poor now--shortages are effecting everyone. Crime is affecting everyone. Inflation is affecting everyone. The solutions are not to "go to the beach" and "eat less," but that's what the leadership proposed. Is there any wonder that people are fed up?
