Apparently some (apparently mistakenly) regard it as an ethnic slur against South Asians. It's clearly not an attack. I guess.

I stand corrected and will promptly start calling South Asian Americans and South Asian immigrant by that glorious term of appreciation and admiration.

(No, no I won't. Just because it needs to be ignored and regarded as innocuous in order to say somebody is wrong doesn't make it any less offensive and insulting. Even if one does feel a need, apparently, to defend not just Psaki but also Fuentes. )
