4. The hatred and inhumanity of these people is disgusting.

Upstate NY has long had a history of trying to provide employment in the rural area by building prisons (state and federal).

Obviously the "talent pool" in these areas is pretty low and the folks you get to want these jobs may not be very high up on the emotional intelligence or empathy spectrums. But there are way too many who view violence as a way of life - familial and social.

Some obvious similarities with this regime's DHS, ICE, CBP, etc.
