I served 30 years in the United States Navy. During my time in, I met and worked with dozens of active duty military members that were foreign, but legally authorized to be in and work in the United States.

They weren't allowed in certain jobs that required security clearances, but they served on flight deck Crash and Salvage teams, as Plane Captains, Damage Control Specialist, Cooks, Engineers, etc.

If someone is here legally, they can work in law enforcement and other jobs.
